PTFE filled bronze guide tape—also known as GST wear strip—is engineered for guiding and supporting pistons and piston rods in reciprocating hydraulic cylinders. It provides precise linear guidance, absorbs radial loads, and prevents direct metal-to-metal contact inside the cylinder.
PTFE filled bronze guide tape features outstanding low-friction properties, excellent dry-running behavior, and high chemical stability. It is suitable for high-frequency, long-stroke, and high-temperature hydraulic applications.
As temperature increases, the allowable load capacity of PTFE materials decreases. For temperatures below 0°C, please consult us for technical evaluation.

Materials
40% bronze mixed with 60% pure PTFE, brown, green, grey and glod color are available, customized color is also acceptable.
For the PTFE bronze guide tapes with a thickness of 2mm or above, QZSEALS provides a specialized embossed structure on the sliding surfaces. This design features micro-lubricant pockets that significantly improve initial lubrication and promote the formation of a stable lubricant film. These pockets also act as “traps” to embed foreign particles, effectively protecting the entire sealing system from wear. To ensure maximum versatility for both piston and rod applications, QZSEALS typically supplies these guide tapes with double-sided embossing as standard.
